Christmas Letter

Matthew Little, NBBI President

Dear Friends,

Just recently my youngest daughter, Julianna (8), came to me with excitement and anticipation. She had in her hand a small gift that simply couldn’t wait until Christmas. She handed it to me and anxiously waited as I opened it up. Her eyes told the story; she was watching my reaction, waiting for my words of acceptance and approval. As I opened the small package I held in my hand (one of her used plastic jewellery boxes), inside was a hand-carved, paper snowflake and a used pencil eraser on which she had written in pen “I love you daddy.” The gift has no monetary value to most but to me it is priceless!

Christmas is the time of year when God made His magnificent declaration of love to humanity. John 1:14 says, “And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” Unfortunately, for all to many, the gift of God’s Son is of no more value than that used eraser but for those of us who are saved we, “…rejoice at his birth” Luke 1:14.

The Lord Jesus is the focal point of the ministry of NBBI. His birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension form the bedrock for why we exist. Every day I am excited to walk into our classrooms with our students, open God’s Word and unwrap the gift of Jesus through the pages of Scripture. God’s Purpose, Our Passion. I believe God’s purpose is to have students who have committed themselves to knowing God’s Word and following His lead to the four corners of the earth. I am confident NBBI has faithfully paved the way for that to happen over the years and we continue to do so today.

Our needs are always great but our supporters continue to stand behind us. We would ask you to prayerfully consider a special gift to the ministry of NBBI. We are committed to keeping our educational costs affordable so that our students can receive their biblical foundation without the burden of significant debt. This commitment on our part means that we rely on the faithful giving of God’s people. NBBI is your ministry as much as it is ours. Help us launch into the New Year on a firm financial footing.

Have a wonderful Christmas and don’t get so wrapped up in what the world has to sell that you miss what God has to give!

Celebrating His birth,

Matthew Little
