Our men’s conference, held each year in the month of January, provides a time for hundreds of gentlemen to come to our campus and enjoy a weekend filled with great Bible teaching and fellowship.
Biblical Challenges from…
Greg Sanford, NTM Director of Mobilization
After graduating high school, Greg attended New Tribes Bible Institute [NTBI] and graduated with an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies. After graduating from NTBI Greg attended New Tribes Mission’s Missionary Training for tribal evangelism in Ontario, Canada where he studied for approximately 18 months. Upon completing his schooling there, Greg went on to the NTM’s Language and Linguistics Institute in Missouri, for another 18 months, where he received specialized training in linguistics and translation principles and completed his Bachelor’s in Inter-Cultural Studies.
In 1977 Greg, and his wife Dawn, left for Venezuela, South America. After a year of Spanish study the Sanfords were assigned to work with the Yanomamö who live very primitively deep in the rain forest of the Amazon. The Yanomamö people live along the border of Venezuela and Brazil. They lived amongst the Yanomamö for 13 years. The Sanfords’ ministry was primarily in the area of teaching God’s Word and seeking to plant indigenous churches amongst the Yanomamö. During those years they were involved in Bible teaching, Bible translation, Bible curriculum development, medical work, literacy work, and some community development. Today there are two small churches in the valley where they lived and the Yanomamö themselves are carrying the Good News to others.
Today Greg works as the US Director of Mobilization for New Tribes Mission and travels the country speaking and challenging for tribal missions. His responsibilities take him speaking in churches and Bible colleges challenging Christians to give their lives to full time service in reaching the unreached. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Lancaster Bible College and Liberty University.
