Head Cook, Shiktehawk Bible Camp
The Head Cook role is a leadership position at Shiktehawk Bible Camp. The position is responsible for coordinating the logistics of all maters related to catering and kitchen operations, as well as ensuring that foodservice is effectively targeting its anticipated outcomes.
Foodservice will be primarily be provided for our children’s program (June – Aug) and for the ClayStone program (A Crandall University program, 24 university students, Sept – May). This role is full time during the summer and part time during the off-season.
It is expect that the Head Cook will use the kitchen as a place of growth and learning for staff, students and volunteers.
Reporting to the Camp Director, the Head Cook is responsible for maintaining appropriate supervision, developing schedules, cleaning, food ordering, food preparation and working within a budget in order to ensure quality food is provided for all our guests.
The Head Cook will also facilitate the progressive spiritual formation of all individuals participating in work related to the delivery of food services. The Head Cook is expected to understand and be committed to the mission and vision of Shiktehawk Bible Camp.
Application Deadline: Review of resumes begins February 1, 2017 and continues until the position is filled.
Option 1: Off-Site – $17,000 per annum. This may increase for work done with rental groups and school groups.
Option 2: Live-in – $17,000 + food and housing. This option would be considered full-time work and would have other responsibilities along with foodservice responsibilities.
Start Date: Negotiable; May 15, 2017 is preferred.
Option 1: June – August Full time.
September – May Part time/Casual

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:
a reputation for Christian character that is above reproach,
a passion for and competency with spiritual formation in a Christian context,
a love for university students, campers and young adults.
at least 2 years kitchen experience,
the ability to lead and work with a team
the ability and desire to train staff,
ability to work within a budget,
first-hand familiarity with camp life and living in community,
experience cooking for up too 200 people,
effectiveness as a collaborator with others in the delivery of services and experiences.

Shiktehawk Bible Camp is a Christian camp located in Bristol, New Brunswick, Canada. We have run summer camps at our facility for 82 years.
